On this week's episode of The Picture Show, Newstalk's resident film critic Philip Molly speaks to the British actress Helen Mirren, who is one of two actresses taking on the part of one of Hollywood's most infamous gossip columnists, Hedda Hopper.
Mirren, who rose to fame in the British police drama Prime Suspect, plays Hopper opposite Bryan Cranston's blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo in Trumbo, released nationwide today. Hopper will return to Irish cinema screens on February 26th, with another British Oscar winner showing her take on the real-life journalist, with Tilda Swinton in the Coen Brothers' Hail, Caesar!.
