Cairn Homes, the publicly-quoted house building firm which has acquired about 27 separate sites comprising of some 20% of the available zoned land bank in the Greater Dublin Area and which plans to deliver about 1,000 new homes per year by 2019, has confirmed its ramping up its operations.
In its half-year accounts just published, it says it’s currently building homes on five sites with a further five developments commencing within the next 12 months.
It expects to support over 1,000 construction employees including apprentices by the middle of next year.
The company generated revenues of €16m during the six months to June and gross profits of €2.6m.
It secured agreement for the sale of close to 40 new housing units during the period bringing overall agreed sales to 112 units.
Chief executive Michael Stanley commented on the company's plans:
"We are currently building new homes on five sites, with a further five developments commencing within the next 12 months. By mid-2017, we will support over 1,000 construction jobs, including apprentices, leveraging the substantial economies that we will benefit from as a home-builder of significant scale."
