The Bolands Quay Development Group has named BAM Ireland as the preferred bidder for the construction of its major development in Dublin’s south docklands.

This project will create approximately 500 construction jobs and it is due to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2018.

Its three buildings will house approximately 36,851 sq. m of office, residential, retail, and 'cultural' space.

It will be able to accommodate up to 2,500 workers.

The development includes the restoration of a number of protected mill buildings and the creation of a new civic plaza looking onto the waterfront at Grand Canal Dock.

Enabling works, including the demolition of existing silos, restoration of old mill buildings and the piling of foundations, commenced in November 2015 and have recently been completed – allowing construction work to start immediately.

The project is funded by Nama and is being constructed under a single phased development programme.
