A Garda investigation is underway following the sudden death of a 16 year-old boy in Cork.

It was reported to Gardaí shortly after 10.30am this morning following the discovery in the Deermount area.

The body has since been removed to Cork Univeristy Hospital where post mortem will determine the cause of death

The scene has been preserved and a technical examination is to be carried out.

It's understood he was found when a friend called to the house in the city early this morning.
