Body found in search for missing man off Clare coast

A man's body has been recovered from the sea at Doolin in Co Clare.

Members of the Doolin Coast Guard spotted the body at around 8am this morning in an area known as Doonacore Bay.

It was discovered during a shoreline search and subsequently recovered by boat, according to the team. 

Searches for a missing 64-year-old Dublin native have been ongoing in the area since last Friday.

The deceased's remains will be transferred to Ennis General Hospital for a postmortem and formal identification
