Films of the week

The Babadook - Netflix

A word of advice from Tom - don't read a scary book to your child that has just showed up in your house out of nowhere, especially if the child already has an irrational fear of monsters lurking around his bedroom. Because maybe the child is right about the monsters. This is an absolutely fantastic movie, highly recommended for the season that's in it.

Curse of Frankenstein, Saturday, BBC2 1.35am

In this absolute classic horror from 1957, Baron Victor Frankenstein (Peter Cushing) has created a monster (Christopher Lee) from different parts of dead bodies. He recalls the story of the beast from the confines of a prison cell.
