Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses in relation to a crash that claimed the life of a 6-year-old boy in South County Dublin.

The crash happened at Shanganagh Road, near the Hazelwood estate, at around 4.45pm on Friday afternoon (July 28th).

A white van - which was travelling in the direction of Shankill village - was involved in a collision with the boy.

The van driver has been interviewed by Gardaí.

The child was taken to Temple Street Hospital, where he died on Saturday as a result of injuries he sustained in the collision.

Gardaí are now appealing for anyone with information, or any drivers who may have ‘dash cam' footage associated with the incident, to contact Shankill Garda Station on 01-666-5900, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111, or any Garda station.
