Revenue has seized alcohol worth more than €15,500 at Dublin Port.

Acting on intelligence, officers searched a container that had arrived from Portugal.

1,084 litres of wine and 164 litres of beer were discovered.

As well as having a €15,500 retail value, Revenue says the smuggled alcohol represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €7,500.
