Aer Lingus announces new Cork-Cornwall route

Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Stobart Air, has announced a new route from Cork Airport to Cornwall Airport Newquay from May 6th.

The service will operate twice weekly with fares starting at €34.99.

Aer Lingus Regional expects to carry over 330,000 passengers from Cork Airport in 2017 - that's 7% higher than 2016.

It now operates nine routes from Cork - flying to Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Rennes, Southampton, and now Cornwall.

Martin Saxton, Chief Commercial Officer, Stobart Air commented on today's announcement - saying that Cornwall is, "a popular destination and we’re delighted to add this route to our services from Cork Airport. The addition of Cornwall Airport Newquay, our ninth route from Cork Airport this summer, reflects the ongoing success of our route network and our Cork services in providing value, choice and key connections for our customers.

"Cornwall and South West England have a great deal to offer, maintaining their own unique culture and history through numerous heritage and leisure sites, arts and language festivals, and varied cuisine. We are confident that this new route will become a popular destination for our Cork-based passengers, and a key part of our summer services."

Managing Director at Cork Airport welcomed the announcement: "Today’s news is great for anyone from the South of Ireland planning their summer getaway. Cornwall is a stunning part of the UK, renowned for its surf and scenery with an abundance of things to see and do."
