Kildare Street is currently closed at the Molesworth Street junction due to the gathering.

Protesters said that working class people will never accept the charge.

Explaining what motivated him to attend the protest one man said: "To protect my grand children, because they're going to be loaded with a bill they had nothing to do with.”

While a mother said she was there because “there are a lot of families who are finding it dufficult to pay everything else, without having to pay this ridiculous charge.”
