The 127-year-old magazine is renowned for its brilliant photographs that capture the beauty of the natural world
Every day on its website, National Geographic, which has been publishing some of the world’s most stunning photography since 1888, reveals its editors selection of the photograph of the day. And now that the last day of 2015 is here, the magazine has compiled its list of the top 20 photographs that resonated most with its audience across the last 12 months.
2015 was one of the toughest years in its 127-year history, as National Geographic laid off almost 10% of its staff after announcing it would partner with Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox. But as the beautiful images below show, when it comes to capturing the beauty of the natural world on film, the photographers and editors at the magazine carried out their duties admirably, showcasing the best of wildlife and landscape photography of the year.
