But that doesn't mean that television is on the way out
Youtube reaches more mobile users than any other television network.
The new research, commissioned by Youtube, suggests that their command of mobile based audiences continues to rise despite the the competition coming from other places in the online video marketplace.
The research indicates that Youtube now reaches more 18-34 year-olds and 18-49 year-olds than any other TV network.
But while viewers tend to consume much of the digital content via mobile devices, young audiences are still gravitating back to the standard television sets as well.
In fact, more than half of the 18-49 year-olds, said they have watched the Google-operated video platforms on their televisions.
Brands form a key component of the Youtube service, and according to the report, viewers are comfortable with that. 61% of respondents said that their opinions about a brand were influenced by the creator they follow.
Meanwhile, a whopping 74% watch brand channels on YouTube weekly, and 63% have taken action because of a brand or creator video.
