No children's TV on RTE 2 from next month

There will be no children's programmes on RTE 2 from next month instead the State broadcaster is setting up a new designated children's channel. 

From April 15th, adult programming will be shown on RTE2 from 11am to 3pm during school term, allowing it to broadcast adverts during the day. 

A new channel, called RTEjr will be set up and it will air from 7am to 6.45pm.
