Emmet Malone from The Irish Times spoke to The Pat Kenny Show
It is expected that Irish fans will find out on Friday if they have been successful in buying tickets for the three Group E games in June.
Ireland have been drawn against Sweden, Belgium and Italy and will see the fans travel to Paris, Bordeaux and Lille for the games.
Over 70,000 fans have applied for 275,000 despite the FAI only being given an allocation of 32,000. Football Correspondent with The Irish Times, Emmet Malone spoke to The Pat Kenny Show on Friday morning about the ticketing process and what fans can do if they do not receive tickets in the coming days.
Northern Ireland fans received their allocation earlier this week with many complaining over loyal fans travelling to home and away games not getting tickets for all three games. Malone added that something similar may happen to Irish fans as only one-third of the tickets available will go directly to them.
The French public were given the opportunity to buy tickets in 2015 before the draw was made and tickets bought by those fans may now be able to be re-sold. Malone added that a UEFA Ticket Portal will open in April for fans looking to sell unwanted tickets.Did you receive the tickets you applied for or were you unsuccessful?
