It's that time again. Join Patrick Geoghegan as he talks with the authors of some of the best new history books.

Opening the show is John Wilson's account of Britain's 300 year relationship with India as ruler and ruled in India Conquered.

Brian Murphy's biography of Douglas Hyde brings the show closer to home before Laura Cumming takes us on a whirlwind adventure in search of a lost Velasquez painting.

The show ends back on Irish soil with Jackie Uí Chionna's account of the great Galwegian, Máirtín Mór McDonogh, and James Quinn and Patrick Maume's study of Ulster Political Lives, 1886–1921.
