ICCL Human Rights Film Awards

On tonight's Global Village

  • Now entering its eighth year, the ICCL Human Rights Film Awards invites filmmakers and activists to submit an original short film focusing on a particular human rights issue. The competition has produced shortlisted films of outstanding quality which cast light on a range of human rights issues in new and creative ways. The awards were held last Thursday night and Dil is joined by overall winner Caoimhe Butterly, Director of "The Border" and by Karen Ciesielski Head of External Development at ICCL.

  • The first-ever World Humanitarian Summit, took place in Istanbul in May 2016 as a global call to action by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Dil is joined in studio by three guests who attended the summit, Dominic MacSorley, CEO of Concern Worldwide, Pat Gibbons, Director of the UCD Centre for Humanitarian Action (CHA), and Reiseal Ni Cheilleachair, Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Adviser with Trócaire. 
  • Wicklow Pride is on Saturday July the 9th. Dave Thomas founder of the Wicklow Pride Festival joins Dil.
