The LGBT Safe and Supportive Schools Project model in Donegal.

  • This week saw the launch of The LGBT Safe and Supportive Schools Project model in Donegal. This is a joint venture between BeLonG To and the HSE and aims to create safe, supportive and fully inclusive schools for young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students in Donegal. Joining Dil are,  Moninne Griffith, Executive Director of BeLonG To and Anne Mcteer HSE.
  • The Young Social Innovators of the Year 2016 Awards, now in its 15th year, is the biggest celebration of social innovation in Ireland and one of the largest youth events in the country. Over 6,500 students have been involved throughout the year, advocating for, and actively creating positive change in their communities through social innovation projects. On the show Dil will speak with the CEO of the Young Social Innovators of the Year awards, Rachel Collier and to two students, Rabiknph Gollapalli and Colin McAndrew from Portmarnock Community School, Co. Dublin who have been named Young Social Innovators of the Year 2016. 
  • The International Day of Families is observed on the 15th of May every year. The Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993 and reflects the importance the international community attaches to families. The International Day provides an opportunity to promote awareness of issues relating to families. The Family Day Festival, run by One Family, celebrates family diversity in Ireland. Now in its 6th year it returns to Wolfe Tone Square tomorrow from 11am to 5pm, for a fun-filled day of family entertainment in the heart of Dublin city. CEO of One Family, Karen Kiernan will be on the programme 
  • Travellers' Voice, is the only national magazine dedicated to Ireland’s travelling community. Editor in chief, Michael Power and Communications officer, David Murphy will be speaking with Dil.
