Ronda Rousey was hosting Saturday Night Live when she made the address
Two months have passed since Ronda Rousey crashed out to Holly Holm and relinquished her hold of the UFC Bantamweight title.
And in what is believed to be her first official TV appearance, Rousey marked the occasion by issuing a word of congratulations to the new champion on Saturday Night Live.
In the video, she says:
''This is the first time I'm talking to my fans since my loss to Holly Holm in November, which, by the way, was a fight that Holly deserved to win. And I just want to take a minute to sincerely congratulate her.'
The effects of Holm's unexpected win left a considerable impact on Rousey. Holm's punishing head-kick left Rousey facing into a lengthy recovery battle and it was reported that the former UFC champion was unable to even eat an apple, such was the extent of Holm's forceful hit.
But Rousey's radiant appearance on Saturday night suggests that she is ready to stage a comeback.
She will however, have to remain patient before she can challenge Holm to reclaim the belt. In the meantime, Holly Holm will fight against Miesha Tate in a title fight at UFC 197 on the same night that Conor McGregor will take on Rafael Dos Anjos for the World Lightweight title.
