The recently crowned champion was at the UFC 194 weigh-in last night
It is almost a month since New Mexico born Holly Holm snatched the World Bantamweight title from Ronda Rousey in Australia, and already, her new found status is attracting new fans.
Holm was a hit with the fans at the UFC 194 weigh-in last night, when she held a Q&A with the audience on the eve of one of the most anticipated UFC fights in history. One Irish fan stood up to give her a romantic rendition of Frankie Valli's classic hit 'I Love You Baby.' Holm seemed flattered by the gesture and the crowd joined in to serenade the new Bantamweight champion.
Another plucky Irish visitor invited Holm to do the 12 pubs with him after the Q&A. The concept of this Irish inspired Christmas tradition didn't exactly register with Holm straight away as both Holm and the MC tried to make sense of the request. Meanings can often disappear in the translation between the Irish and, well, every other nationality on the planet and it looked as if the fan was never going to get an answer.
Holm suspected that the fan wanted a photo until a few helpers from the press row spoke up to eliminate the confusion. And once the situation was clarified to her, a delighted Holm happily waxed lyrical about her preference for pubs ahead of nightclubs.
'Oh yeah, let's do it. I love the pub. I'm a real big fan of live music and pubs over like clubs and techno music.'
The fan responded by making arrangements for the pair to meet outside the arena where presumably, the rules and stipulations of the 12 pubs will be finalised.
