The row over the seminary at Maynooth has blown wide open a debate that has been had within the church for some time. What makes a priest and Who makes the priest? Does the church need deeply holy and theologically sound priests, or ordinary men with ordinary flaws who can mix with ordinary people. Who wins this argument dictates the future of the entire Catholic Church.
