The Right Hook and Ireland Gateway to Europe 2016

George was in Boston this week to lend his support to the initiative that encourages US companies to choose Ireland as the country to expand their business

As the programme has done for several years now, The Right Hook gave it's support to the Gateway to Europe initiative; a venture doing its part to bring business from the US to Ireland.

And what a week George had.

George firstly had the privilege of captaining Team Ireland in the inaugural Gateway to Europe golf classic.  As you can see, he's pictured here with Bob Mauro, Director of the Irish Institute at Boston College (pictured below), as well as the CEO of Sigmar Recruitment, Adie McGennis .

He also caught up with Warren Zola, the Executive Director of the Boston College CEO Club.

Steven Addazio is the head coach of the Boston College Eagles, and George got the chance to speak with him about his career, college football, and more.

Ireland and the US have a long tradition of economic relations, and Kevin Whelan, the Michael Smurfit Director of the Keough-Notre Dame Centre in Dublin, who was speaking at a Gateway to Europe event in Boston this week, joined him to discuss the history of relations between the two countries.

The ‘Ireland Gateway to Europe C-Level Investment Summit’ took place in the Seaport Hotel in Boston. It was for all businesses who are interested in giving their business a kickstart, by expanding their operations abroad. George spoke with Sarabeth McGuire, Supervisor in the International Business Department in EisnerAmper Ireland and Jeffrey Bergstrand, Professor in the Department of Finance in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame about what can be done to get more business from America to Ireland.

Congressman Richard Neal (pictured below) also popped in to see George, and they discussed the international jurisdictions and their effect on business.

And to round off the week, Sigmar's Robert MacGhiolla Padraig looked back at the week that was.
