Leo Varadkar says whistleblowers are "distinguished"

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar this morning addressed an audience at a Road Safety Authority conference on driver distraction.  

He commented on how Garda whistleblowers Maurice McCabe and John Wilson have been treated and said of them "if I was to use one word, the word I would have used would be distinguished’.

Gay Byrne, the Chairman of the Road Safety Authority welcomed the Transport Minister's backing of the Garda whistleblowers.  He called on the Justice Minister Alan Shatter and the Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan to apologise to Maurice McCabe and John Wilson:
