Aoife was last seen leaving a friend"s house in Collier"s View in Portlaoise.

Gardai searched a house in the town yesterday, while part of the river Barrow near Monasterevin in County Kildare was also combed for any sign of Aoife.

A 24 year old man was detained on Monday for questioning, and taken to Portlaoise Garda station, where he was released late last night without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
