On April 8th, an eerie silence had come over Baghdad, following three weeks of fighting between the US and British allied armed forces, and the Iraqi army.

The objective was to change the regime, thus toppling the dictator Saddam Hussein, who'd been in power since 1979, and who the allied forces claimed had weapons of mass destruction.
