Naoimh Riordan, STEAM advocate, tells George why Ireland needs to get up to speed with this new way of learning
There is a growing emphasis on the need for young Irish students to be taught STEAM subjects. Is Ireland adapting?
Naoimh Riordan, advocate of the STEAM subjects, and Irish participant in the TED-Ed Innovative Educators project.
She is a teacher in Rockboro Primary School in Cork, who runs the Sparks after school programme at the school. It is open to any primary school student from any school.

The programme gets students from nearby institutions, like UCC and CIT, to come in and teach the children.
Naoimh will be talking at the iwish.ie Stem Conference for girls in Cork in the New Year, a conference that focuses on promoting STEAM subjects for girls.
