Team 33 look back on football in 2015 and picked an XI
Picking a team that spans a calendar year is a tricky proposition.
Since it spans portions from two separate seasons split by a transfer window, form can fluctuate dramatically as Chelsea found out during 2015.
On the Team 33 Christmas Special, we finished off the show by picking our team after some minor deliberation and a contestable shortlist.
Eden Hazard and some other Chelsea players might have been a shoe-in at one point but was let down by a decidedly poor second half to the year and even between January and May, they weren't as impressive as the first half of last season; other defensive options could make better the cases than the ones below (perhaps a Scott Dann) and there seems to be an unconscious Arsenal bias judging from the number of Gunners included.
Here's the team we picked - between Joe Coffey, Balls.ie's Conor Neville and Derek Ryan of 98FM - and feel free to tear it to shreds and send us in some amendments:
Aside from picking our teams, we looked back on a football year that went from the bizarre to the brilliant. You can also listen in on iTunes:
Also in terms of other types of teams, Eoin and Tommy have some Fantasy advice to impart for this weekend's fixtures:
