The 68-year-old met Brian Cody and Henry Shefflin on Thursday morning
Not since Eddie Keher taught Muhammad Ali who to play hurling in 1972, has a lesson from a Kilkenny star been so high-profile.
Prince Charles is currently in Kilkenny with his wife Camilla, as they continue on a tour of the country. During a brief stop at Kilkenny Castle, the first in line to the British throne was introduced to Brian Cody and Henry Shefflin.
The 68-year-old met with Kilkenny's own royalty before he and his wife were guests of honour at a Civic Reception in Kilkenny Castle.
"Keep your eye on the ball", was Shefflin's advice to the Prince, with Cody calling him "a natural" after he stuck the sliotar on his first attempt.
Newstalk reporter Sean Defoe was on hand to see the moment.
