World number one Dustin Johnson is due back on the course after recovering from a back injury which ruled him out of the Masters last month.

Leading up to the tournament, Johnson was on fire, winning both the WGC Mexico Championship and WGC Dell Match Play and was widely tipped to collect his second major.

"DJ" fell down some stairs at his rental home the day before the tournament was due to begin and the red hot favourite pulled out on the first tee when he succumbed to his injury.

In the end, Sergio Garcia went on to win his first career major after an epic tussle with Justin Rose down the stretch at Augusta.

A strong field is participating this week including Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and Zach Johnson. Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell are also scheduled to take part while Rory McIlroy is still away on his honeymoon.

The unofficial fifth major is also just around the corner: The Players Championship at Sawgrass.

This year's championship has been moved from the Quail Hollow Club to the Eagle Point Golf Club as the regular venue hosts this year's PGA Championship.
