The Champions League quarter-final between the two sides was postponed until this evening due to an explosion
Borussia Dortmund fans opened their homes to Monaco supporters last night, after the Champions League meeting between the sides was postponed.
The postponement was obviously justified, given that one of the Dortmund players required surgery when the team bus was caught up in an explosion on the way to the stadium.
Thankfully, defender Marc Bartra says he is doing better now.
After the decision was made to postpone the game, several Monaco fans were faced with an accommodation crisis as they had not planned to stay an extra night. The Dortmund fans then came up with the idea of welcoming the visiting supporters into their homes.
The campaign trended under the title #bedforawayfans and it seems that new friendships were forged over night.
Here's a collection of some of the images posted on social media, that show the Dortmund and Monaco fans bonding before the rescheduled fixture this evening.
