Former England rugby player Brian Moore is recovering in intensive care after suffering a heart attack.

The 55-year-old confirmed the news on his Twitter account, in which he offered his thanks to those who saved his life.

The former England hooker earned 64 caps for England between 1987 and 1995. He also played for the British and Irish Lions.

He trained to be a solicitor during his rugby days and has since moved into punditry, working across print, television and radio platforms.

Tributes are being paid to Moore, wishing him a speedy recovery from his health scare.
