He is expected to be out of action for about a month
Liverpool will be without attacking midfielder Adam Lallana for Saturday's Merseyside derby against Everton.
The 28 year old suffered a thigh injury in the closing stages of England's 2-0 win over Lithuania on Saturday.
It is suspected that he will be out for about a month and is likely to also sit out the Reds' Premier League games against Bournemouth, Stoke and West Brom as Jurgen Klopp's side look to maintain momentum in the race to finish in the Champions League places.
Lallana has had a positive season for Liverpool this campaign, normally operating behind the fluid front trio of Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
The former Southampton club captain and academy graduate has scored seven Premier League goals this season - his highest tally since the 2013-14 campaign when he managed nine for the Saints.
He is joint-sixth for assists in the Premier League this season after setting up seven of Liverpool's goals.
Liverpool will be hoping to do the double against Everton this season after a 1-0 win at Goodison Park when Sadio Mane scored a late winner.
