Arsenal triumphed 5-0 at the Emirates to end Lincoln City's fairytale run in the FA Cup and advance to the semi finals.

Non league side Lincoln had made history by becoming the first side from outside the Football League to make the last-eight of the tournament for over a century.

But Premier League Arsenal took time to overcome their opponents.

Fresh from a 10-2 aggregate thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Arsenal didn't find the net until first-half injury time.

Theo Walcott opened the scoring with a finish inside the box. Olivier Giroud doubled that lead eight minutes after half time.

Kieran Gibbs' ball across the box was diverted into his own net by Luke Waterfall as Arsenal made it 3-0.

A fine effort from range by Alexis Sanchez made it 4-0 and Aaron Ramsey tapped in from close range for the fifth as Arsenal head to Wembley for the semi finals.

They hold the joint-record for FA Cup wins along with Manchester United and remain on course for a 13th triumph in the competition.

Earlier, Manchester City won 2-0 at Middlesbrough to reach the last four for the first time since 2013.
