Summer El Clásico set to take place in Miami

Barcelona and Real Madrid will face off in a pre-season El Clásico this summer in Miami.

The two sides will meet for the as part of the 2017 International Champions Cup. The game will be played on Saturday, July 29 at Hard Rock Stadium, the home of the Miami Dolphins.

"On 29 July, FC Barcelona will play against Real Madrid in Miami during the club’s pre-season preparations in the United States," the club said in a statement today.

"During an event in city in the South of Florida, Barça’s Vice-President responsible for the area of Marketing and Communications, Manel Arroyo and former player Hristo Stoichkov on behalf of Barca, and the Director of Institutional Relations Emilio Butragueño and former player and ambassador Roberto Carlos on behalf of Real Madrid, were the representatives of their respective teams during the announcement of this historic match which will be a part of the 2017 International Champions Cup."

The game is likely an attempt to promote the European game in the American market, with stars like Lionel Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo all expected to feature. 

Barcelona today released a video celebrating the announcement and have said that more news will follow the announcement.
