He wants to fight either Ricardo Lamas or Max Holloway next
Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar has only one fight left on his current contract and wants to fight a top contender at featherweight.
Edgar is aiming to join the elite group of Randy Couture, BJ Penn and Conor McGregor as fighters who have held titles in two divisions in the UFC.
Speaking to the MMA hour earlier this week he said: "I’d like to get a deal. That’s what I’d like to do. Who knows what’s really gonna happen. But I would like to get a deal. I don’t really want to go anywhere else.
"This has been my home since the beginning. I just don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t. It’s not like we’re that far apart,” he added.
Asked who he'd prefer to fight between interim champion Max Holloway or perennial contender Ricardo Lamas he said: I think those are ones who make sense, depending on what Holloway is gonna do with Aldo, what Aldo is gonna do. Who knows?"

The New Jersey native has fought and lost twice against Jose Aldo so it's unlikely he'll get another shot at the featherweight title unless Holloway becomes the undisputed titleholder. Edgar has won six of his last seven fights and is coming off a decision win over Jeremy Stephens at UFC 205.
The "Korean Zombie," Chan Sung Jung, is another option the American might consider after he returned to the octagon last weekend with an impressive stoppage of Dennis Bermudez.
