The 32-year-old impressed in a win over Washington
In 1989, Michael Jordan's game-winning basket in Game 5 of Eastern Conference First Round for the Chicago Bulls against the Cleveland Cavaliers became known as 'The Shot'.
On Monday night, Cleveland's best-ever player LeBron James may have had his version of 'The Shot'. A regular season match against the Washington Wizards does not have the same resonance of Jordan's effort, but James' basket will be played for years to come in his highlight reels.
Trailing 120-117 with 3.4 seconds left in the game, Kevin Love flung the ball down the court to James. The 32-year-old caught, turned and shot the ball in space of 1.5 seconds to get the game-tying basket while falling into the crowd. Even with the best effort of Washington's Bradley Beal, James was able to shoot the ball off the backboard and into the basket.
The reaction of both sets of players, the commentator Marv Albert and the Verizon Center crowd showed how impressive the shot was.
Cleveland went on to win the game in over-time, 140-135. They remain on course to be the top seeds in the Eastern Conference.
