There was plenty of sparring, both verbal and physical, in the UFC this year
The UFC has had a massive year, both in terms of pay-per-view buys and in terms of talking points.
From the much hyped battles between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz to the sale of the company for billions of dollars, fans have had an unprecedented year when it comes to coverage of the sport.
With titles changing hands like it was going out of style this year, there were plenty of great bouts and, of course, pre-fight press conferences - some of which got slightly out of hand.
However, the majority featured the best verbal sparring in the game before the fighters stepped into the ring, as they dispensed some witty insults.
Of course, the man who has proven to be better at trash talk than perhaps the entire roster is Ireland's own McGregor, who features heavily in the promotion's compilation of the best bits of the year on the mic.
2016 was one of the best year's of Trash Talk we've ever seen! HERE are our favorite moments 😂 😂 😂 pic.twitter.com/4m52NNsJi5— UFC (@ufc) December 22, 2016
Only England's Michael Bisping appears anything like as many times as McGregor does in the clips, as he takes digs at Nate Diaz, Eddie Alvarez and Jeremy Stephens...as well as the entire roster.
