Greystones golfer gives himself a great platform
Paul Dunne has made a stunning start to the Alfred Dunhill Championships in South Africa.
The Irishman hit a round of 66 to give him a one shot lead on 6-under par alongside home favourite Charl Schwartzel.
That puts him one shot ahead of a group of five players.
His round included eight birdies and just one bogey.
Dunne started the front nine in excellent fashion with four birdies before bogeying the ninth.
However, that minor setback did not knock his momentum off course as the Greystones golfer managed four more birdies on an impressive back nine.
Michael Hoey is also well placed. He is three shots behind Dunne after a round of 69.
Fellow Irish golfer Jack Hume is on 1-over.
