They finished four shots ahead of 2nd placed France, China and USA

Ireland finish in 9th as Denmark are World Golf Champions

Denmark's Soren Kjeldsen and Thorbjorn Olesen won the World Cup of Golf earlier today in Melbourne, Australia. 

The pair posted a combined 20-under par to finish four shots clear of French duo Victor Dubuisson and Romain Langasque, the Chinese pair Wu Ashen and Haotong Li of China and the American team of Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker.

The Swedish team finished a further shot back on 15-under par.

Ireland's Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell posted a total of 11-under to finish in joint 9th place alongside local favourites Adam Scott and Marc Leishman.

Speaking after winning the tournament, Soren Kleldsen said: "It's been an incredible week. We've enjoyed it so much and it got very tight today but it was a very exciting day and we knew it was probably going to go down to the wire.

His playing partner Thorbjorn added: "We sorted of played our own game out there and I think that really helped us."
