We're just days away from Conor McGregor's shot at becoming the UFC's first champion to hold belts in two weight divisions concurrently.

The pair meet this Saturday in the UFC's inaugural event at Madison Square Garden in New York City under the banner of their most famous star. And with all the hype that has surrounded the stacked card, there's still a little bit of time left for some smack talk.

Ahead of this week's card, the UFC have released their latest UFC Embedded video which goes behind the scenes as fighters put the finishing touches on their preparation.

"Conor McGregor — this guy is so offensive-minded and never on the defence that whenever you put him on the defence, he gets so flustered and so upset," Alvarez said on the latest episode.

"At a certain point in our press conference call he got desperate. He started talking about my wife and kids and things like that. That for me is just a sign of desperation. You don't talk about another man's family unless you're like through the roof p****d off.

"If we were in a fight and I was putting him on the defence, I looked at this like this man is just closing his eyes throwing 'Bolos'. Just to see him cross that, it's good. It's a good sign for me."

McGregor's pre-fight thoughts were much more succinct: "More of the same. Just hard f*cking work."

The promotion have also released a second video, charting the rise of the two fighters and detailing how the UFC made it to New York City.

"UFC 205: Alvarez vs McGregor - Fighting For History" again goes behind the scenes and also features interviews with the two fighters, their history and what the significance of Saturday night represents to them.
