Tommy Bowe has accepted an invitation from the Barbarians for their upcoming game against Fiji in Belfast on Friday, November 11th.

The experienced Ireland and Lions winger will join up with fellow Ulster provincial team-mates Ruan Pienaar and Dan Tuohy in the squad, which also features the likes of New Zealand World Cup winners Ben Franks and Andy Ellis.

The Barbarians' visit to Belfast will be their first since October 1957, with most recent fixtures on Irish soil taking place in Dublin and Limerick.

In May 2015, they beat Ireland 22-21 thanks to two tries from Alex Cuthbert and another from Zane Kirchner.

Bowe was not included in the Ireland squad for the upcoming test internationals, starting with Saturday's clash against world champions New Zealand in Chicago's Soldier Field.

He made his return to action after injury in October.
