Liverpool are into the League Cup quarter-finals after a 2-1 win at home to Tottenham.

Daniel Sturridge scored twice to put Jurgen Klopp's side in control before Tottenham pulled one back through a Vincent Janssen penalty with 15 minutes to go.

Arsenal got the better of Championship Reading 2-0.

Just like Sturridge, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also scored twice to send the Gunners through.

Premier League strugglers Hull City dealt with second-tier opposition Bristol City 2-1, while in-form Newcastle thumped Preston 6-0 with Aleksandar Mitrovic and Mohamed Diame both scored twice.

Leeds defeated Norwich 3-2 on penalties after they drew 2-2 after extra time.
