It will be a light-heavyweight fight
Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen are scheduled to face off at the Forum, in Los Angeles in a Bellator light-heavyweight fight on January 21st.
Both are former UFC fighters but never faced-off inside the Octagon despite lengthy spells in the rival organisation.
Ortiz, a former UFC light-heavyweight champion currently has a record of 18-12-1 while Sonnen will enter the contest holding a 28-14-1 record. Ortiz defended his UFC title five times before losing it to Randy Couture at UFC 44.
Sonnen hasn't fought since his UFC loss to Rashed Evans in 2013 and has lost three of his last four fights, including bouts against MMA superstars Jon Jones and Anderson Silva.
Ortiz is coming off a Bellator light-heavyweight title loss to Liam McGreary at Bellator 142 last September although he won his two previous bouts against Stephan Bonnar and Alexander Shelmenko.
The Forum in Los Angeles has a history of hosting big fights and was recently refurbished and now accommodates 17,500 spectators.
The two previously met in a college wrestling match where Sonnen pinned Ortiz on his birthday.
