Liverpool UFC star says he'd take on Ibrahimovic inside the octagon

13-1 fighter thinks the Taekwondo black belt would be a huge draw for the promotion

Danny Roberts has called out Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic ahead of his UFC 204 bout tomorrow, stating that he'd like to see the Swede inside the octagon.

The 29-year-old Liverpudlian was speaking at a media scrum ahead of UFC 204 when the idea of taking on the United centre-forward was posed. Roberts, who was unaware of Ibrahimovic's black belt in Taekwondo, was happy to call out the former Swedish captain.

"Yeah I'd like to see him in the Octagon, see what he's got.

"At the same time it would probably add a little bit more value to us and what we do."

"So if he's willing to fight, I'm here. I'll make weight, any time"

Roberts, a middleweight, is 2-0 since joining the UFC last year, and is looking to add another win to his streak as he takes on 8-0 Mike Perry in Manchester at UFC 204 tomorrow night.

The likelihood of the bout actually taking place is probably somewhere between non-existent and pie-in-the-sky, but seeing as CM Punk just had a fight, and Tim Wiese is a professional wrestler now, we're not ruling anything out in the world of PPV buys.
