The pair will meet for a second time, a rematch of their headline bout at UFC 187
Daniel Cormier will defend his light heavyweight title at UFC 206 this December in Toronto as he takes on Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson for a second time in just over a year.
The pair meet for the first time since their headline bout at UFC 187 in May 2015, with Johnson having earned his shot with a first round victory over Glover Teixeira.
Cormier submitted Johnson in the second round of their fight in Las Vegas last year to claim the vacant light-heavyweight strap.
The American NCAA wrestler has defended his title just once against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192, which he won via split decision.
He was set to face Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 200 in July in a title unification fight after Jones defeated Ovince Saint Preux to clinch the interim light heavyweight title.
In the week leading up to the UFC's landmark event, Jones was cited for a potential anti-doping violation and was replaced by Anderson Silva in the main event, whom Cormier beat in a non-title bout.
The event will take place at Toronto's Air Canada Centre on December 10, with the fight being announced on Wednesday's edition of the FS1 program UFC Tonight.
Johnson is on a three fight win streak and has won 12 out of 13 bouts since the step up to light heavyweight, Cormier handing him his only defeat on that record.
