The FA had already thrown out 4,000 T-shirts that the ruling body was planning to give away to fans because they had a similar quote
The FA were left with a considerable amount of egg on their face as players received postcards from now ex-manager Sam Allardyce under the headline 'The journey has begun'.
The postcards were sent out the morning that Allardyce left his post, following The Daily Telegraph's sting investigation in which the former Sunderland boss faced allegations of advising undercover reporters on how to dodge third party ownership rules.
The card was emblazoned with the England crest and was headlined 'The journey has begun'. It also contained the message:"Well done! Our journey has begun with our first win together. Looking forward to seeing you soon".
The cards were each individually signed and were sent out to reaffirm the good feeling after their opening 1-0 win over Slovakia.
Moreover, 4,000 t-shirts were also thrown out after a plan to give them to fans, featuring a similar quote, had to be scrapped following his resignation. They were intended to be distributed to fans before their World Cup qualifier against Malta on April 8.
Allardyce's 67 days in charge was the shortest of any permanent England manager.
