Rory McIlroy will team up with rookie Andy Sullivan for Friday's first session at the Ryder Cup as Europe and USA's captains revealed their pairings for the morning foursomes.

They will go up against the US duo of Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler at 1.50pm Irish time on Friday.

The opening match of the week will tee-off at 1.35pm.

That opener sees Olympic golf champion Justin Rose and fellow Team Europe golfer Henrik Stenson taking on the US duo of Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed.

Third out for Europe are Martin Kaymer and Sergio Garcia against Jimmy Walker and Zach Johnson.

Thomas Pieters and Lee Westwood play Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar in the fourth of the foursomes.

US Masters champion Danny Willett is one of those players who will sit out the opening foursomes.
