Patrick O'Leary has qualified for the final of the KL3 200 metres in canoeing at the Rio Paralympic Games.

The Cork native sealed a third place finish in this afternoon's semi-finals to take his place in the medal race.

O'Leary finished in a time of 44.135.

It was a faster time than he set in the earlier heats, where he also finished third but in 45.977.

The 43-year-old's final will take place at 2.10pm Irish time on Thursday.
