Ireland's Jason Smyth has eased into the final of the T-13 100 metres at the Paralympic Games.

The reigning gold medal winner was comfortable throughout as he won his heat.

Smyth set a time of 10.76 to finish ahead of Namibia's Johannes Nambala, who finished in a time of 10.81.

Smyth was the fastest qualifier from both Heat 1 and Heat 2.

He will now take part in Friday's final when he will be favourite to win gold yet again to follow up his successes in Beijing and London.
