Dundalk have beaten Sligo Rovers 1-0 at the Showgrounds to cement their lead at the summit of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

David McMillan got the goal on 13 minutes, four minutes after Sligo's Craig Roddan was shown a red card for a foul on Daryl Horgan.

That stretches Dundalk's advantage to seven points at the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Bray Wanderers enjoyed a 2-1 win at St Patrick's Athletic and Shamrock Rovers made sure all of tonight's results were away victories with a 1-0 win at Galway United thanks to a Gary Shaw goal.
