Kerry confirm extension of Eamonn Fitzmaurice's management tenure

The Kerry county board have confirmed that Eamonn Fitzmaurice has been re-appointed as senior football manager for a further two years.

After a county committee meeting tonight, they announced that the 2014 All-Ireland-winning manager will continue a spell in charge that began in August 2012.

In a statement, Kerry GAA said: "At tonight’s Kerry County Committee meeting Eamonn Fitzmaurice has been re-appointed as Kerry senior football team manager for a further 2 years.

"The Finuge man was first appointed to take charge of the team for the 2013 season and following defeat by Dublin in last year’s All Ireland he committed to stay on for a further year. Tonight’s appointment will see him at the helm for a fifth year in 2017 having led Kerry to 4 successive Munster titles and an All Ireland title in 2014.

"Fitzmaurice will reveal his backroom team at a later date."
